Behind the Brand: A Special Announcement!

We've just been looking back to last Autumn when Clover received a telephone call that changed the course of Clover Lewis Swimwear.  

Clover had just been speaking with Sarah Clarke, the editor of Lingerie Insight magazine, and by the end of the call was left speechless!

Sarah had called to announce Clover’s newly launched brand of mastectomy bikinis and post-surgery swimsuits was included in the finalist roundup for the UK Lingerie Awards!  Oh, and Clover Lewis Swimwear made the shortlist in not just one but two categories!

First, our new label was shortlisted for Post Surgery Brand of the Year, alongside other established mastectomy companies Ameona, Royce, Spirit of Debenhams and Lorna Drew. 

We were over the moon to find out that Clover, who designed the entire collection, but also nominated for New Designer of the Year!  A first for a mastectomy swimwear designer to be shortlisted!  This is a clear sign of kudos for Clover’s design capabilities, Sarah explained.

The following day the November edition of Lingerie Insight landed on the studio doorstep. We all gathered around to read the names of famous brands like Spanx, Curvy Kate, Freya, Maryan Melhorn, Coco de Mer,  and Nubian Skin, were amongst the 200 brands who competed for the prestigious awards… proving the competition was fierce. 

It was several long weeks of waiting for the winners of the awards (said to be the equivalent of The Oscars for the lingerie and swimwear world!) to be announced.  Never in a million years did we expect to win, But there we were (see below) in the running!
